Taking the Plunge!

Five months ago, I wrote on the top of a piece of paper, "Kelsey, what do you want?". For 3 months, I could not write one thing down. I felt a little bit lost and a lot confused. Finally, I feel as if I can answer the question. Yes, there are things that I could write down...A new pair of jeans, a pair of silver glitter Tom's shoes, a personal assistant who also is a massage therapist, and to know Jesus more. But, I didn't know what I wanted the future to hold...

Then after much pondering, a few emotional breakdowns with Jer and Sher-bear (a.k.a. Dad and Mama), and time...It was like an "AHA!" moment. I LOVE to take pictures. So why not pursue something that I love! Yes, fear and anxiety were there to tell me how I wouldn't be good and that it was a silly idea. But who likes fear anyway?

So here I am, trying each day to get better and doing something that makes me so happy! Who wouldn't want to love their job!?

I have one of the most wonderful mentors/friends/favorite people/gift from God to my life. Michelle Jensen who has let me intern for her. She is so full of wisdom about everything, not just photography. I love all of my time that I get to spend with her! Thank you Michelle, you have been such a blessing to me.

This quote is currently taped to my mirror, reminding me to run head first into my dreams.

"The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure."

Life is beautiful. and so is courage.

Kick off your shoes & get your toes sandy.

Jaimee and Alivia. What to say to describe these girls? They are spontaneous and full of life, they make the most boring things fun, they quote Baby Mama randomly, and they are two of my most beautiful friends. Jaimee and Alivia are seniors in high school this year and wanted some senior pics done. However, who wants to take pictures alone? (Correct answer = NOBODY!) So, we all piled into the Green Chariot (a.k.a. My Little Green Volvo), grabbed a Dr. Pepper, and went on an adventure. Fife for some pictures with the coolest red shack in the world, and then Federal Way for a walk on the beach.

So that is what we did, kicked off our shoes and got our toes sandy.

Life is adventure-full.

Treasures.

Tonight, while just looking through pictures on my computer, I came across some of my most favorites. I decided that I should share my treasures with you! Just looking through these makes me want to get my camera and take pictures of the adorable people that I know.

Let's talk about how cute these pictures are. First, I absolutely adore Hayley's red hair and Eowyn's adorable halter dress. Second, Baby Josh was completely in love with playing in the sand. Mostly, because he got to crawl around and he didn't have to worry about getting his clothes dirty. Probably because he wasn't wearing clothes. Oh babies. How cute. And lastly, I love Cara and Josh. Cara is one of my most favorite people to be around. She is completely honest and genuine and really full of wisdom. Not to mention her and Justin have 2 of the most adorable boys alive. Oh gosh, if I loved these people any more, my heart would explode!

Life is beautiful, and filled with treasures.

Sunshine on Sunrise!

Last weekend, some of my very favorite people came and visited from Wisconsin. They headed out here to drop off 2 of their sons to start a year of Generational Leadership. I have spent the last 3 years of my life at GL, and loved every minute of it! Well, almost every minute. I definitely realized that life has growing pains even when you aren't getting taller, but they are so worth it in the end.

Anyways, be amazed at how beautiful Mount Rainier is. I really do think I have the most wonderful people in my life and live in the most wonderful place. Let me prove it to you...

(I LOVE my dad's face in this one.)

Life is beautiful, and so is my big fam bam.

Twinsies.

My best friend Tara is a nanny on Mercer Island for some very beautiful children. Audrey and Phoebe are twins who were born in January. One day, we decided to have a photo shoot with the cutest babies! We definitely played dress up with the babies and were laughing the whole time. Belinda, thank you for letting me take pictures of your babies! You are hilarious and I loved spending the afternoon with you! Audrey and Phoebe, lets take some more pictures soon!

Life is unforgettable.

Jackie & Nathan say "I DO".

Jackie and Nathan are two of my friends who just so happen to have gotten married this summer. Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! I could not be happier for them. One thing I love about their relationship is how much you can tell they just LOVE being around each other. It's obvious to see that they are best friends. Their day was perfect. Her dress was impeccable, her shoes were sparkly, and her smile was radiant. Take a look...

Life is spectacular.

Kashia, Mason, Bryson, & Max.

Kashia is the mama of 3 of the most adorable little boys ever. We had a blast walking around the park, sliding on the slide, and running all over the place. I had a great time with them and was LOVING all of the faces they were making. It's easy to see how much the boys love their mom, they all wanted to sit right next to her in every picture. Take a look at this adorable family!

Life is beautiful.

Jaimee, the prettiest girl in the world.

Jaimee is one of the most hilarious, beautiful girls! I absolutely love spending time with her because she makes everything a party. This mini-photo shoot was the same way...A party. We were just having lunch one day and decided to head to the park to snap a few shots. I was in heaven. She looked beautiful and we laughed so so much. Jaimee, you are beautiful and I ADORE you!

Life is beautiful, don't you agree?
