Princess in the Red Hat

"A daughter is a day brightener and a heart warmer."
-Unknown

Baby Gabriella Sophia is a princess. I met her when she was 3 months old, and she already had a personality. Now she is 9 months old and the happiest princess ever. She loves life. She thinks her big brother Jayden is the funniest thing on the planet, and her smile lights up a room. She's gorgeous, has what sometimes looks like red hair, and the biggest most beautiful eyes. She also is the best dressed baby in the world, I wish I had her wardrobe. She even had sparkly shoes, a girl after my own heart. Needless to say, this baby girl is fabulous.

Taking pictures of a 9 month old is a blast. She could not get enough of my camera strap and kept trying to grab it and eat it. It's okay, I didn't mind. She laughs when you make funny faces, the world is hers to explore. Since she can't walk or stand by herself, her equally fabulous Mama came and helped us out.

She also is ready for the royal wedding. She wore the most fabulous red hat for her photo session and made me feel like Prince William and Kate would be walking around the corner any minute. She could have definitely had tea with the Queen and fit right in. With her bubbly personality, I'm sure the Queen would have enjoyed every minute with Baby Gabriella.

Take a look at this Princess, and wish you had a red hat.

Life is better in bright colors, like red.

Perfect for Each Other: Tara + Travis

"We are most alive when we're in love."
-John Updike

They are opposites who go together like summertime and popsicles. Tara and Travis have known each other for many years, but had not realized how perfect they were for each other until 2 short years ago. While we drove to Eastern Washington for their engagement session, she told me about him. About the man who she has fallen in love with and cannot wait to wake up next to. She loves to try new things with him; he makes life an adventure. As she talked, she could not stop smiling. The drive took only 2 hours, but by the end, I felt like I had known them forever.

When I met Travis, I understood their relationship. He is steady and makes her feel alive. They know what the other is thinking, even before it is said. He is a cowboy and she is a city girl. But together they are perfect. He makes her smile. She makes him strong.

They will be saying "I Do" on October 1st, 2011 in Naches, WA. Only 4 short months until they never have to say goodbye.

Tara and Travis, you are perfect for each other. You made me fall more in love with photography. I am so glad to have met you. Thank you for being so kind and supportive, and for teaching me what classifies a mammal. I will remember you always. Your love is beautiful and alive, just how it should be.

Life is better together.

Dawson Attwood: Newborn

"While we try and teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."

Watching two of my best friends fall in love and get married was like watching the best movie in the world. Watching them have a baby boy was like watching the best sequel in the world. When Brettany handed baby Dawson to me, I felt like it was Christmas morning. He is the most perfect baby. He loves being wrapped up in blankets, his hands, eating, and sleeping. He is peaceful and nice. He makes the best yawning faces. I can't wait to take pictures of his whole life.

Brettany and Steve are already the best parents in the world, and the happiest. Dawson enhances their life. It is amazing how much they love him. How much their families already love him. How much I love him. While I was in Minnesota last week, I missed that baby boy and wanted to come home so he could nap in my arms.

My best friend becoming a mom only made our relationship stronger. I wasn't sure how life would be once Dawson was born. Honestly, how was I supposed to? I've never experienced anything like this before. It's crazy. I've never felt closer to her, I have cried about 15 times out of joy, and I feel like my heart might explode whenever I see her and her family. New life does that, it makes the world feel full and alive and worth living every day with a smile on your face.

Also, I wanted to say a huge Thank You to Michelle Jensen for helping me understand the art of newborn photography. She is Aaaaaamazing at photographing babies, it really is mind-blowing. She was so kind to help me with this shoot and I feel so blessed to know her. Thank you, Michelle!!!

Since you all want to see this perfect baby, let me show you. Its okay to laugh and cry happy tears and want to have a baby. I already have enough for both of us.

New Life is beautiful.

Airplanes, Dramamine, and Love.

"Life is partly what we make it, and partly what is made by the friends we choose."
-Tennessee Williams

The last week has been full of airplanes, driving, old friends, new memories, and laughter. I made a trip to Wisconsin and Minnesota to visit some of my favorite people and to play with the Generational Leadership group who was on their road trip. It was 6 days full of the best things in life. Long conversations with people who don't just want one word answers, Dramamine for motion-sickness, Coca Cola, and family. Not immediate family, but the people who come into your life and add themselves to it forever. These people (The Rouse Family, The Habel Family, and The Salley Family) love life and make me love it as well.

All that to say, I am coming home on an airplane right now. Yay for in-flight wireless internet! But I am coming home refreshed and happy to kiss my family and my 4 pound puppy. But also sad to leave the people who I wished lived next door. I might need to invest in an airplane of my own, because I already miss them.

Here are some previews of what will be on the blog this coming week!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE, Baby Love. Baby Eva and Baby Dawson, you are precious bundles of life.

Life is refreshing.

Imaginary Ice Cream Cake

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."
-Elizabeth Stone

Steve & Alie are two of the most wonderful people you could ever know. They are in love with life and each other. They have a way of making you feel comfortable, like the whole world is your living room. They are the best listeners but also the best advice givers. I could talk to Steve & Alie for hours, maybe years. They are the young adult leaders at my church and have impacted my life along with countless others. They do everything with their whole heart. So when they announced that baby Jacoby was on the way, the whole world had a party.

When Alie asked me and my friend (her cousin) Josiah to take some maternity pictures of her and Steve we went out and got ice cream cake and balloons. Because we knew it would be a party. Okay, we got imaginary ice cream cake and balloons...Less calories.

Steve & Alie, you are going to be fantastic parents. Jacoby is already so loved and I can't wait to meet him.

Take a look at this gorgeous couple and the cutest bump in the world.

Life is sublime.
